That bed, to me, seems like the epitome of isolation. I think the room would actually be quite nice if it were in better condition; I'm sure the view from the two windows must have been incredible. And I love how the light streams in from both directions. But still, that bed...yikes.

I love the way the New England fall colors play off the red of the building, and how it looks like there almost isn't a sky at all.

Ali, just because people have mental health issues doesn't mean that they're any more "under-developed" than the rest of society. And mental illness also does not automatically equal infantile behavior, or poor spelling and grammar skills.

FB Jim; reciprocating steam pumps are a topic of interest to me; I own five small ones. Are any of her pumps still aboard?

The Astoria, along with some barges and other vessels were moved further upstream, probably after the Coast Guard ordered the owner to get rid of them because they were blocking the channel in the 1970s. I would assume the laws of removing ACMs and other hazardous substances are similar in both countries.

In my town, there is a disused military former barracks, and in the evening, with the purple sky, it is the same color in it...

I've taught some college courses, but not in photography. It's kind of a natural process for me, and would be difficult for me to explain to a student.

If I remember correctly, the stuff in the foreground is twisted metal of some kind, looked like it was ripped out of a wall somewhere.

The light seemed like it was being reflected off a colored object at the end of the hallway, casting that hue into a dark hallway.

Hm, I never thought if it in that way... if an amusement park were built here, people would be having fun.

I personally think it's disrespectful, but it's an interesting thought nonetheless.
