Oops...I got out of the hospital on first of May. I always thought mental facilities had barred windows, however, the one I was in, it had small square window with wire mesh panes.

I have kept quiet on my tours of these few sites, the Severalls Asylum, the Hellingly Asylum, and the Metropolitan State Hospital, and on this pic, I have to say, I love the lone chair pics! Matter of fact I love all your pics. Of course since I been in the mental hospital from March the first 2006 til first of June 2006, I have not been around any computers! Then when I got out of the hospital, my computer crashed and been without one for three months, and now I have it back, working great, and enjoying the wonderful pics of Mott's!

I can relate to this picture. Looking at it, brings a flood of memories I'd rather leave buried in the grave. Neverless a fantastic photograph!

TRULY AWESOME PICS!! WHAT A SHAME THAT THIS PLACE COULDN'T BE SAVED. WHAT HAPPEN TO PRESERVING HISTORY. MY COUSIN WAS IN THE BONNER BUILDING, NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO PEAK INSIDE THE MAIN GOTHIC BUILDING.

Those marks on the floor are from the walker itself no doubt. (rusty powder from the plating) Great shot!!

i think the indentation is probably from the weight of the vile liquid.

I still have a memento of this park from over 30 years ago. It is a little plate with a string hanger and it deplicts this house on it, I ALWAYS wanted to have my birthday party here! I love these photos and thank you for them, I now live in California and have sooo many wonderful memories of visits here!!!

I worked for two companies that went under and left behind a bunch of empty buildings, Hills and Ames. We have also had FoodTown go under, Cubs, Farmer Jack's, etc.. All leaving hideous abandoned "box" stores behind. The Wal-Mart here has actually helped the "Mom and Pop" stores by attracting more people into the area surrounding the store. Of course here they knocked down an old hideous, abandoned "box" store to build it.

Enough of that.

The building in this photo appears to be waiting. You would think it enjoyed having people pick around inside it! This was an awesome angle to take this shot from.
