If you look closely at the stains on the wall, you can see a face, from the side, as if wearing a gasmask or perhaps covering one's mouth with a cloth? i don'tt know how rellevant that is but that's what came to mind. were old soldiers (supposedly crazy) condemned to life here?

In reference to the first picture, it COULD be yet another incidental reference to the mind of a mentally ill person. The base has colapsed through and everything has fellen through with it, like a psychological abyss.

Perhaps an incidental referance to the mindset of some mentally ill patients. Something so out of place, like their personalities and opinions in the world they are/were in.

It looks like the mould is creeping steadily accross the room, decaying it piece by piece! possibly like the slow-acting yet chronic effects of mental illness. excellent shot.
