This is such a cool shot. That latch is wonderful!

Pennhurst is one of my favorite places featured on this site. I haven't been there, but hopefully someday. Thanks for posting these pictures.

The residents of this building may not have been ambulatory at all, so the tub could be raised up to make the task of bathing a little less back-breaking for the attendants.

Hmm, they appear to be steel anchor plates for the inner brick wall. Perhaps it was in danger of collapsing, so these tie rods were put in after construction, which would account for the holes in the plaster.

There's a fluorescent light fixture dangling from the ceiling in that room.

V in medicine is usually "visual" . In psych VC = visual contact. Online medical acronym VH= visual hallucination. Of course it could be something to do with some kind of activity, not a standard abbreviation. Is Lynne still around? She knows this stuff.
