id like to know how u got into the main building with the huge fence around it...because my friend through me through a window that we broke like 10 feet up but then the door inside was cemented shut i couldn't get in...the only part we really got into was the basement with those big pipes

one of the neatest places to go was on top of the morgue building. it was like the penthouse but filled with a bunch of old machinery. Great view of the ohio.

they should have never messed with that place. i was up there so many times and everytime i left i felt like somthing came with me. i hated that they tor it down to put up a walmart. i just hope now for the sake of things that all this has not been for nothing. was only caught one time out of 85 visits illegally.

I was up at that asylum many times.
you could see into the safe if you hoisted
yourself into the low celing right on the otherside of the tunnel room. this was in 99, Nothing was inside it was just a steel safe door not actually a full safe.

I was at the state hospital a few months ago. My wife and I brought my stepson to the playground (right behind the property) and I took a walk over to the main building and walked right in. I never saw any security at all (although I know they patrol the area regularly). Very interesting architecture to say the least.

I don't want it to go either, i try to visit as much as i can before it gets torn down. As far as i know however, it is still standing.

I would hate to go through life seeing only the black and white without seeing whats in the gray areas too. If looking at beauty in EVERYTHING is being disturbed then I'm happy to be that way.

How can you think something like this is beautiful? Sure the architecture is something to impress but the idea of it? It's an Asylum! Both pictures are haunting, the second you can even see the "men in white". For those of you who are interested in having this picture as a background, I find you very disturbed.

I used to live in a summer cottage right next to the park with my family for many years, and my brother, myself and our friends from other cottages would spend hours at the park. We went every day. We were crazy teenagers who would be exploring the grounds (even the dump looking for metal items to cash in to put towards gas money for our friend Scott's truck), jumping off the dock, finding new ways to sneak in, and checking out the soaking wet girls who were leaving the "Flume" (log ride) that were trying desperately to cover themselves up because had white t-shirts on ;), I wouldn't trade those years for anything. I've got a story for every one of those rides.

Great shot! The owergrowth in the middle of the picture (where the building stands out a little) looks like a person with the hands in the air!!!
