These platforms with step and stairs! Is there even `standing-room´up there? And that square hole. Have NO idea. For food going UP?

This is a beautiful basement - light + dry - after 45 years. They knew how to build well.

It is so dry and so light - yet a basement. How is this possible.?

This is a wonderful picture. Am so attracted to this fine stately Italian mansion - to me so beautiful and such clean lines.
THE WINDOWS - can´t stop looking at them....
- realizing there are 5 up front facing South, and 4 to East and West and then 3 in the back facing North. So clever + cool.

It happens that these "shells" are saved and fixed up thoroughly.

The spires on top of the roof remind me of a Russian Orthodox church. I'm glad they didn't move the cemetery.

What I see resembles the outside of a church building. I guess we each see things differently. But this photo is most pleasing to the eye. In looking at it alone, one would never suppose that it was a jail.

Well, I'd say lavender is much more calming than red or that ghastly yellow we saw in that one cell.

How did they get those beds into that cell? That's what I'd like to know.

And I'm wondering what in the world were they being taught in this classroom. They had school but no toilets. I'd opt for the toilets any day.

Maybe all this string tying was done by explorers after the prison closed. Just a thought....

I would love to have a piece of old medical equipment, such as this. So many stories to tell!
