I don't know how it is in other parts of the world, but in U.S. hospital where I work in maintanance, all X-ray rooms are lined with lead walls, floors, doors, and ceilings. That building was built in 1983. In our older building's X-ray dept (1949) the walls were also lined with lead at time of construction though we don't use that area for x-ray anymore.

No, isnt that the shadow cast by his legs, taking the picture? The way a shadow lays out in front of you in the sunlight?. I see it the way you, like batmans head from behind, but I dont think so..

What's the creepy shadow in the top right lower corner of the old pic? Looks like a hand shadow puppet, or a dragons or dobermans open mouth. No one else notice?

UGH- Freaky! The flowers are in such good repair in comparison to the floor and pillar. I see tables with the flowers set on the floor as it is and people at them... How could this discrepancy occur? weird to me, at least...

I think the sticker says I love so and so YMCA Bowling... I dont see anything about a smile...? A random placement, maybe - no other comments?

Okay, so since I am out west now, sadly, and you guys mostly seem to be back East.... It may be off topic, but PLEASE tell me the old "smallpox hospital" ruins on "Welfare Island" in the East river are still there? Or is it Roosevelt Island? I remember dying to go there and look growing up and never got the chance. I used to look over from my apartment on the East side. I am talkign more than ten years since I left so my info is "fuzzy", but someone please tell me they have not torn it down and developed it? It was like the ruins of an old castle, just lying there... Or did it just look like that to me as a kid?

I think it's an amazing picture. So simple and such depth....
