I think it should be made into a haunted house. . . it scares the shard out of me!

The cabinet is used to house the temperature controls for the shower. They are still in place at Norristown State Hospital. The stairs? I dunno.

I lived at Glenn Dale Hospital. My father was the Hosp. Admin. Some other "former resident" wrote in and was wrong on his "facts" so I doubt he really lived there. It was not a scary place. I was never afraid living there.

They were directional signs to wards and departments

It is patroled by the local police, security for the nearby SE PA VA center, and is on state grounds right next to the active National Guard Armory, and like the man said, there's cameras. Philadelphia Magazine did an expose' on Pennhurst by Loretta Schwartz
( now Schwartz Nobel ) back in the Fall of 1976...well worth the price of a backcopy.

holly, with all do respect the fact that it was a metal health facility is not where it failed to live up to its potential . the ever genuis governer billy weld decided that our tax money needed to be spent on other things like 35 year chrismas decorations in towns like wellsley im obvisily being sarcastic . we all know how well our fine public officials handle money.

i know it is such a intreresting piece of knowledge she/ or he should colaborate with tom tom.
