Great contrasts here, Motts! This looks like the gaping black maw of some diabolical abyss... it's so creepy! And yet at the same time, diametrically fascinating... I want to run in there and check it out... but at the same time I want to run away screaming... so confused...

This is like the evil twin brother of the hallway in the last photo.

And the semi-circular window above the doorway... That's pretty, too. That doorway's kind of wierd, too, no that I really look at it. There's only one door... Right in the middle of the opening... wierd.

This is kind of a creepy looking pic! The way the banister's all jagged and kind of thwanged off to the side at the end there make it look kind of like a creepy little stairway to nowhere. But the ceiling sure is pretty! =)

This is so beautiful. It's like it's been sitting there, frozen in time, just waiting for someone to come back and care. This room is so beautifully preserved, it seems like you could just sweep the little debris up off the floor, turn on the lights, and it would be all ready for a holiday ball.

I'd LOVE to see columns like that, NEW!

There are quite a few sets of windows with three to them, and because it's a church,
I keep thinking of the trinity.

I hope they're not going to renovate this into some kind of antiseptic tube. What beautiful colors. Even the colors of decay are beautiful in this photo.

AH-HA! So that's what those crazy torchiere shaped thingies were on the wall in that other photo of the chapel! That looks like an interesting border pattern, and even like lettering that might have been on the wall behind what probably was a sconce that held some type of religious object. I wonder why they would have placed it over the lettering?

What a beautiful picture Motts! It's cool the way nature is taking over on the roof...

This is kind of a sad shot. I think of all of the fingers that must've played that organ... did it bring a moment's joy or peace or even comfort to those troubled ears that listened? This once was a thing of beauty, and now it sits there, lonely and abandoned, falling to pieces. Thank you for letting us see it, Motts =)

What an awesome shot! I love the rays of light peeking in from the bottom. The lines in this are fabulous. I love the contrast of the arched curves and the cut-away peak against the intersecting straight lines.

Hey, is that pillar stone, Motts? I just thought at first that it was a wooden pillar that had once been white but is now coated with layers of artistically patterned grime (if that's grime, then it's AMAZINGLY artistically patterned!). But Java makes me think that it might be some kind of stone... can't tell for sure from the pic. Whichever it is, it's an awesome shot! Motts, your angles are fantastic!
