If you look at it from a distence it looks like someone with bloody hands messed up the wall/door

I wouldn't mind go in there and hunt for ghosts all night. Besides this place is THE MOST HAUNTED PLACE in Buffalo. The place maybe a little dark in spooky but rember DARKNESS IS YOUR FRIEND. Don't wory about the ghosts because what can they do touch you, just appearing in front of your eyes, or just make some noise.

Also for the people who live in Buffalo, NY, I'm starting a paranormal team called NFPS. The website will be coming soon and we will investigate any type of paranormal expriences that you have.

There could be a few factors... perhaps most of the closures of institutions happened later in England than over in America, giving the buildings more time to be vandalized.

Many places in the US were not protected in the early years; exploring back in 1995 was much much different than after the millennium... Danvers State Hospital was just sitting on that hill with no boards on the windows and no security for a good while!

The security in England seemed much more lax in terms of repercussions though. When I got busted by a guard and his K-9 in England there was no questioning or ticket; in the US a place with that level of security, a criminal trespass would have been issued at the very least.

England has it's share of trashed places. Look at all the burned buildings at St Margaret's. An upcoming gallery of Normansfield Hospital will show a lot of vandalism, and Hellingly had a good amount as well, I didn't shoot much of it because it was quite ugly :-)

I don't really; it's the people who built this place, worked and lived in it, abandoned it, the sun, wind, water and ice... I just take photos of it all.

Being a "newbie" to this sort of thing, I could be wrong but; It seems as though there is less vandalism in these pictures than I am accustomed to seeing in pictures of buildings from our side of the pond, (USA). Is there a different attitude in Britain, better security, or is this an isolated situation?

Oh, you people! First of all, that is a happy, cheerful, sunshiny picture with a happy secure little girl who is enjoying herself playing with the pretty butterflies and the happy clown; second of all... SCARY CLOWN

probably reading WAY too much into this little drawing, but looking at it as someone with a lengthy background in classical ballet, both girls in white leotards seem to have correct position, while the girl in the black leotard in the background is all over the place. And did anyone else notice... looks like black leotard girl's left arm was drawn once, erased, and then repositioned by the artist into its present position. An interesting little drawing indeed... Autographed by the artist, too, I might add...

Wow, this place looks like it must've been quite an operation once - with a pipe organ, those huge projectors, and seating for what looks to be quite a few. They must've done some entertaining back in the day.

Wonder why there's so much damage on the (stage) right side of the ceiling out over the main floor? I noticed it in the other shot, too. The other side isn't like that at all.
