THIS is the roof that started caving in while we were on it the other day - not very fun.

We went here on the 23rd, went on the roof and it started to cave in! Suggestion: Be VERY careful, and don't walk on it if it looks like a friggin lake

This thing is COVERED in grafitti now - I usually mind it but it does look pretty cool now

Parents neighbor worked at Pennhurst and apparently didn't have a good experience. Also the cribs were not just used for children. Cribs were used for clients who were at risk for falling out of bed and injuring themselves due to seizures, being nonambulatory, many reasons other than having a rail to "chain" them to. You really have to get rid of the image of little children being the dominate inhabitants of Pennhurst. It just was not the case.

first of all thanks Motts for the bad ass site!!! now for Ozzy - you say your 14 thats great to see our youth so interested in agreat piece of history ! I dont know what school you go to but if its in the city of Buff. you shuold get together with your history teacher and start a collection to put the American Flag back on the roof above the area were Motts took this pic. From all the older pic.s I have seen in the past the flag has been missing for a long time! It would be a great and meanningfull thing to do. the flag thing could happen on say 4th of JULY something to be noticed by a lot of pepole and that s how interest is gain'd witch is what is need'ed your freind fl al !
