I just noticed something, Pennhurst has the same EXACT floor Byberry had in almost every building.

growing up in hamilton,ma. danvers state was part of my childhood memories. part scary , always fascinating. my friends and i did our own exploring of the grounds and also volunteered for 1 yr with the children who lived there. loved your photos, thanks

The newer version of The Shining was filmed at The Mount Washington Resort Hotel in New Hampshire. I know for sure because I've been there and it not only looks exactly the same but there are autographed photos of the movie being filmed there throughout the hotel.

Rochester has a rich history and colorful past. I am still fascinated by the accomplishments this area has achieved through the years. The subway may not have been in existance for very long and ended its service amidst disappointment, but not all historically important subjects end with a posititve outcome. I still marvel at the "hidden" archive that resides under a city that barely remembers its existance. I'm sorry that "Rochester Gal" is so pessimistic about living here. I've found plenty of reasons to be happy about being a part of this community and I'm proud to call it my home.
