I grew up in a house, that had the same looking stair case! It was a beach house! It is sad to see the decay in this hospital. At the same time it is very creepy. Was wondering if any one had visited Waverly Hills, and or Essex mountain Sanatorium?? It makes you wonder what was going threw the doctors and nurses minds!!!

I see A LOT of people saying how they would love to see the inside of these wrecks. I'd just like to warn everyone. This is a Pretty Dangerous Place, the wrecks are extremely unstable. Many young people have been injured here.

I live across the Arthur Kill From this Site, And have even purchased parts from the owner, for my boat. The "cylindrical things" along the long access of the hull are called "Bubbles" and are there as a type of Fender Protection. They also add longitudinal reinforcement to the hull as an added bonus.
