I lived about a 1/2 mile from the hospital (on Bell Station Rd.) until I was 10 yrs. old. This was from 1967 - 77. I remember a fully functioning hospital. I vividly remember at Christmas the hospital would put up a big star on the hill facing 450. It was exciting to see it lite up at night. Boring but true!

It really reminds of Steven King's The Stand. Just yesterday everyone was working hard at their jobs and then the next day no one ever comes back.

Its still owned by the state. The Buffalo Psychiatric Center is still functioning on these grounds (though this complex is quite abandoned), though I think ownership was transferred to the Dormtory Authority, as part of the process to raise funds for its restoration.

No, its just a decorative design; there's some kind of design inside the circle (I forget what it looks like).

Like so many of these buldings that are on this sight time really does seem to stand still. In these bulidings however the world does not.... It's sort of tragic in a way.
