I take care of a woman who is 96 years told and her husband used to be a Dr. there in the 60's/70's. She has some interesting things to tell of the place. These pics are fantastic. I wish I had the chance to see the place.

It's possible... it was very difficult to tell which wards were which since it was so bombed-out.

I don't think so; I haven't seen many of those in older elevators like this one. The building was only 2-3 floors as well.

Yes I'm pretty sure it's an adult sized crib, although it could just be a regular bed, it's been a while :-)

I have seen isolated viewing rooms for families to view people who died of contagious diseases in two hospitals, and they were very close to the morgue. The glass and other structures might have been removed from this room here; modern medical facilities usually don't have religious symbols like this on display just for the staff as well.

I'm still not positive of course but these observations together with the biohazard morgue drawer seems to make sense.

this was on ward 10, as has been said, it was the blind unit, so was there to prevent patients walking into the pillar

The boat is the "Seawells Point" of 1926: one of the original Electric Ferries. When traveling on the expressway in Staten Island to the Outerbridge Crossing, I used to just be able to see her resting offshore. She has been sitting there since the late 1960's.

sweaty, the room is dark, so the camera needs a longer shutter speed to pick up the light in the room. The light is from an explorers helmet who walked down the hall while the shutter was open.

Maybe used to tie up horses, then after cars took the place of horses...the fixture was just left there? Just a guess. Although I am rarely wrong about anything.
