No, the graffiti was done by idiots. The state of decay makes it look sloppy.

No doubt she was put there due to some sort of psychiatric illness.

I know that I am not an expert, I don't claim to be, but I have researched it a lot, and it seems like people are getting their time periods confused. The people who are taking offense to comments are thinking of the present or recent years. The ones who believe the majority of care given to patients was abusive should be looking to the past. Dorothea Dix, Nellie Bly, Albert Deutsch; these are all key researchers who found terrible conditions in mental hospitals.
None of them researched past 1950. Mental health care has improved in institutions, but the homeless mentally ill are still a problem-not for us, for their own well-being.

I really love the colour of the lights from outside coming through the window, it makes the world seem to beautiful outside than inside a place like this.
