I worked at the Pines Hotel during the summers of 1970-1976. I was the staff waiter and primarily served the bands, entertainers, athletic staff, card room staff, etc. I still have an autographed picture of Lynda Carter from the summer of 1970. She was the hottest thing in the Catskills that summer. I gained a lifetime worth of experience during those summers, Christmas breaks and one Passover that I worked. I have endless stories that would take a novel to express them all. My brother, Bruce also worked at the hotel and my wife Dyan Dannheisser worked as a counselor and cocktail waitress there as well. I have been practicing podiatric medicine and surgery for the past 28 years, the last 21 in Miami (Kendall). I even treated Bernie Cove (the maitre d') at my office in Miami. His daughter made him a great 70th birthday party at her home in Miami. One of my best friend's remains Jeff Savran who also worked in the dining room during those years and is a podiatrist in Boca Raton, Florida now. At Met State nurses would routinely put patients in seclusion for ridiculous random reasons though they would sometimes let me hang out in "the quiet room" when things got too crazy on the ward.

Camp Bluefields is in the town of Blauvelt. As a kid I knew the tunnels well and playde around the area for years. Enen the old serviceens swimming pool was still visible. I guess after 65 years I need to go back.
