I worked there in the 80's ... the memories I have are awful..... the horrible things that went on in there... went for walks in the evening and the things I heard .... oh.....geez... I went there today.... for the first time to try and make peace.. geez... I will follow up with pics I took.. there is definately something there... God forgive all that took part in the most unimaginable things that those poor people endured..... and may God rest the souls of the poor children buried on those grounds.....

I'm sure in the 1950s they thought this was very useful research but I'm afraid, speaking as a medical professional, it doesn't tell us anything and the methodology was extremely dodgy.
Mikado, Fidler, Olvier, Christmas band and chorus, and HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!
You got used to the radiators, especially during basketball (and there used to be a hinge structure on the ceiling, from which the goal would be lowered).
There was a space below the stage that was used to store costumes and props.
That tiny black square on the rear wall behind the curtain was one of the 4 "portholes" from the projectionist's booth.
It wasn't a "job title". Don't be so literal. Gerry was referring to the Brother who supervised the dorm. He was outside the showers.
The showers had curtains. After you got in, you took off your bathrobe and ran the water. And, you brought in your own soap.
Seventh,
I remember when the "3rd floor dorm" had about 60 of us. The "senior dorm" was on the second floor above the gym.
When I was there, total school enrollment was declining from about 145 to about 85. My class graduated with 14 seniors.
Joe DiBella taught me to cut hair. I used to do two each morning after breakfast! Whoever was getting a haircut got out of his chores for that day, and a "substitute" had to do that guy's chore.
Saturdays during the Spring, we'd have the windows open and the doors at the back of the corridor - great cross breeze, and a great place to be!
My Dad was an electrician and member of the parent's group. He volunteered and I helped him install the flourescent lighting, which replaced three old incandescent hanging fixtures with large bowl-like globes. I hated how it went from dark and warm to bright and cold. It would have broken my Dad's heart if he had lived to see the place decay so...
