Lordy: It's still the big penus thing. Damn, it's intimidating. Jesus, Lynne and Motts, ya'll know what I'm saying. It just picks up what it's all about. I just seem to back to all the Mott's photos and pick up more things everytime I do. Lovingly.
Sorry, guys, but in the 1918 picture all I see is what was probably a bit of fluff and/or dust on the lens during development...
I've worked in a darkroom, and have also spent hours and hours taking out things like this from wedding pictures as a profession. Take my word for it. Dust.
Turns out, i was on tour with my band and stayed at a friends house out there who lived down the street in the same neighborhood as this hospital! Blew my mind!
The hard thing about being homeless is that to get a place to live, you need a bank account, and money. To get a bank account, you need proof of address - which you can't get unless you have a home. To get a job, you need an employment history and references, both things that you'd be lacking for the duration of your homelessness. Homeless people are no longer a part of society, and it is hard even for someone completely healthy mentally to start over basically from scratch. In many cases, it's impossible without outside assistance, and that assistance can be hard to find.
I've never been homeless, but I know people who have, and for all of them the hardest thing has been re-entering society. These were people without mental illnesses or drug problems, just people who had sufficient financial hardship that they were unable to afford somewhere to live.
This is one of my favorite places. You have a great site here, I am glad to be able to see your pics of this and all the other amazing places you have been, thanks for sharing them.
This is coming from someone that used to be a guard at the old abandoned property. You did an awsome job with the photos and capturing the essence of the place.
