This is just so beautiful!! It leaves me speechless. Its truly sad that people would let such a wonderful place go to ruins.

It's likely that the fence was put there to stop the children wearing the ground down around the roots, which may have damaged it.

I guess when they say "Stainless Steel", they mean it!! This site has definitely inspired me to investigate some of the many vacant buildings I see in my travels in upstate NY. Not to mention research on closed hospitals.

"Sheltered Workshop" sounds like it would be a scheduled activity for an individual--you know, like in solitary....

They need some place
to put the soil they've
taken out of the graves.
Then they'll need some
of that soil as back-fill.

yes,those bricks retain a lot of heat,unless they did this some other way.
Fires are burned in brick-lined ovens.
When the fire goe out,the debri is removed
and the bread is baked on residual heat--all
day.
Don't know if that would be desireable here.
Quite a little operation they had going here.

It looks exactly like the cellblocks on TV and in the movies....

At first I thought it was one of those little anti-rooms they put you in to rest and grieve.
