Cleaned up a bit, I could sit out here in a rocking chair and drink a mint julep (or lemonade, or iced-tea....anyone care to join me? ;-) ). Love the collumns and the vanishing perspective.

Pimp my tub!
OK, I know the gold paint HAD to be after-the fact, but that just looks WRONG!!!!!! Of course, I also find the arrangement of the tubs a bit odd, too. Motts, have you ever seen another place with FOUR tubs in the same room? I know you said "odd arangement" before, but, more than one?
(....runs to grab the POOK bucket to hold out for Lynne.....). Geez. I may have to use it myself!! :-p. "Unsettling" might be a good word. This one is similar to that other one in "The Other Ward" (last gallery). Very Alice In Wonderland-ey.

Actually, there's a cool story surrounding this writing LMS. Maybe I'll take some time later and dig it up.
I agree. And I wouldn't want to go through that arched doorway into the dark beyond. Creepy. Nice skylights, though. Unusual in a large room like this. Hmmm. Unusual in most of these places, I guess....(?)
Yay!! TWO cookies (munches happily while typing......). I love how overgrown the outside is. Would love to have seen it (ummm, from the outside.....:-)) when it was open and functioning. Cool brick work.
This almost looks like an empty chapel...in shape, at least.
Oh, Hey!! Now maybe I get a cookie!! :-D. Love the bright spot of green from the leaves. Again, may I say....."NICE ARCHES....;-)"
(....hands LilMiss an Oreo....:-)). I really like that an effort was made to make this building a little more aesthetic. Great little detail, in ADDITION to the arch itself. Nice to see some curved, organic lines in what are usuually square, horizontal/vertical spaces (patient-area interiors, anyway). Nice.
Too bright pink/magenta to be blood. Old, dried blood is dark maroon or brownish (or if smeared thin, like a handprint smear, deep, almost orangey-brown).

i went to paul dever this past tuesday and had to run from the rent a cops lol we went into most of the buildings including the activity center with the bowling alley and the most interesting building was were there was a cage with a lock in the corner of a room and right on the side of it a 6 by 6 box with a door...childrens commonwealth of massachusets files saying how they were hurt and hurt eachother treated like animals locked up and tortured....random cries for help echoing through every building...on top of that it used to be a prison called miles standish where german prisoners were kept during ww2.imagine the horriblt things that have taken place in those buildings.someone should knock them down and put those souls to rest.i never believed in ghosts or anything paranormal really and still not sure if i do but i definetly believe that there is some type of evil in that place
OK, just checked the link. Not sure the nudity was necessary (just caught my eye), but I'll read further.....
Oh my gosh! That's just......just wow. I had a dream once that included a room like this (minus the tubs). Interesting idea someone had (rushes to check the link about Gennie..)
