There was once a door there but the police at the time had it shut by them putting stones over it because kids were sneaking in at night to mess around with the paitents

I got my qialification documents in that ballroom from Sister Hough

the ballroom was situated in st Lukes in from the "front" as it was called at the end of the corridor oposite to the staff canteen and next to the chapel

Brilliant Shot.... Remindes me of a Broken Down Planet left to rot and fall to peices .... Left and forgotten to be discouvered by new Travellers years later . THere is something eerie about this shot Im not sure I can place it on one thing....

It was an amazing building and a wonderful sound came from that organ and th physiotherapist was a realy nice man

Brilliant Photo's .... Makes you wonder how long it would take for a Prisoner to go mad in one of those cells.... Hard wood "Bed" and no TOileting Facilitlys.........Would sure make you think twice about breaking the law again... If you had to go back to this place.... I wonder too if these old places have many ghosts in them... Alot of old Abandoned places Ive been to have had quite a few .... Especially the old prisons. Either way I would venture there at night... Looks scary enough during the day.

This type of suction machine had 2 glass bottles attached.The right side was the first bottle to be filled and if this bottle got full the fluids it would then flow into the left side bottle (ball side),when fluids reached the ball , the ball rose to the top of a metal tube and block off the suction ,and the suction would not work. The bottles then needed emptying.The types of suction devices were used to suck up mucous, vomit, or blood, which would have occurred during a surgical procedure, or if you had an unconscious patient, or any patient that had difficulty maintaining an airway. These type of suckers worked either by oxygen (from a cyclinder) or by electricity. This one looks like it worked by O2. The suction devices used today are disposable , ie don't need to empty the contents of the bottles ( due to risk of infectious diseases etc ). These types of suckers were used up until 10 - 15 years ago.

I think old X-ray machines can still leak radiation ?

Bed rails like this are still used today, but with the gaps between the rails closer together for safety regulations.
