I need to say (and if I could I would be actually SHOUTING) READ THE COMMENTS FROM THOSE WHO ACTUALLY GOT PUT IN THESE PLACES before you write. I am close to tears here as I read from Gaebler school girl then immediately after, a comment reading 'amazing' and 'beautiful' . I am not diminishing anyone's viewpoint (sorry Jima) but I really feel these people's pain as they look at these images. Motts, you are a GREAT photographer and a sensitive artist. You must feel responsible for evoking these reactions in people who lived these things first hand?
Everyone that stayed here.....I'd like to say congratulate you for being survivors. I am a teacher and I love children...I see my job as more than teaching a subject, I care about children and how they see their world and how it shapes them. Whatever you all went through during childhood, bravo for making a success of your lives.
lol, Chrispy, especially if it was your annoying MIL who asked, just after picking up a piece of bread she'd dropped on the table and putting it in her mouth...
Yup, we have a drying rack like that in our lab as well. Not so much for test tubes, but you can hang beakers and flasks on it. We also use the bottom rows for hanging brushes, wire whisks, rags, etc...
I loved your write-up on this place. I knew of course that Hitler murdered those he deemed mentally unfit, but I didn't know there were so many, or how he carried this out. I do think it's amazing though that they are planning to use these buildings still, instead of ripping them down - if only more places could do so!
We have to remember that:
1. Institutions like this are for people who cannot function in the 'real' world, therefore whether rape, neglect or any form of abuse happened or not, these people were already suffering. We need to respect that.
2. Paranormal investigation is a valid science that is nothing to do with an urge to go into a haunted house and scare yourself silly. I believe that this site contains a lot o energy, possibly negative. We don't know if there are spirits here but if there are, do they not deserve some peace? This kind of science may help us to understand life after death and how spirits can be helped to rest. Maybe this sounds a bit hippyish but what I'm trying to say is we need to respect things we don't understand. Please think before writing insensitive comments
