A metal bed frame can be a very dangerous thing in the hands of a violent person. Other than a weapon, it could be used to smash out the mesh covering over the window.

I tried to watch an episode of the Life After People show, the one with Norwich State... the overly dramatic music / sfx / voice over was a bit over the top for me.
