Actualy Belgium is tri-langual nation. Dutch and French are the most spoken languages. In the east they speak German, which is also an official language in Belgium. If you buy a pack of cigarettes overthere the warning is in 3 languages.

I remember taking gramps to this room for some sunlight. Beautiful view from the inside.

Sadly, my grandfather was a patient here in 1981. By that time it had been turned into a nursing facility. I remember going to visit him a couple of times. Even took a pic of him and my grams on their 50th wedding anniversary there (albeit in his room). Gramps died here in December.

you can hardly tell where the lifts are anymore! i dont fancy using them!

I feel for the poor souls that had to live in this institution. I cant believe how lonely and sad it looks, as medicines wernt advanced i cant imagine how the mentally ill would have felt having to go through the electric shock treatment etc
. I have studied mental illnesses and i feel empathy for all the individuals who had to stay here........... so sad:(
