The detail is absolutely incredible. Blows my mind. Imagine what a ceiling like that would cost these days haha.

Ref Sinks, Faucetts, soap dispeners, etc. The design is basically European. Even thought the States had their own way of getting water into a basin/bowl at the time, because the design of the building was based on a European physco/hospital model, the fittings usually were chosen by the designers of the building. Even though the designers may have been US in origin the models that they chose from were from Europe. Most people in the US would not have experienced such faucetts at this time, unless of course they were well travelled ...or mad! There is no better, or worse , just different!

The view would have been clear, only shrubs and small trees then! Everything would have been in view. Imaginge the picture without the plant life! The plants don't know if the funding has been cut! Only the gardeners. Great shots as allways!

Yes you are correct about the tunnel system BTDTIHTTS. The tunnels excluded those buildings. Emilia, you too are also correct, the security staff there are just trying very hard to do their jobs. If you talk to them, you'll find that they are basically a decent lot and will treat you nice as long as you show some respect.
