Even thought the States had their own way of getting water into a basin/bowl at the time, because the design of the building was based on a European physco/hospital model, the fittings usually were chosen by the designers of the building. Even though the designers may have been US in origin the models that they chose from were from Europe. Most people in the US would not have experienced such faucetts at this time, unless of course they were well travelled ...or mad! There is no better, or worse , just different!

The view would have been clear, only shrubs and small trees then! Everything would have been in view. Imaginge the picture without the plant life! The plants don't know if the funding has been cut! Only the gardeners. Great shots as allways!
