That sort of looks like my old truck! I also had an old GMC Jimmy truck too! I refuse to call them SUV's! ; ) My dad loves trucks! He used to drive 18 wheelers-how he got those enormous trucks inside the small bays of old buildings is a mystery to me.

@jennylw-great thought! I also wonder what happened to all the patients that lived in these buildings, especially the ones who were at the old Kirkbride at Danvers State. I heard that some of them are living in the streets. It was a shame that they closed the only home that some of these people knew.

thanks thad! at this point, the security is suspicious of everyone wanting access to the property but if you show them that you respect both them and the property, they are so nice! plus they have a lot of interesting stories about the place. please don't go in trying to cause trouble - they are VERY serious and will not hesitate to call the state police for even th most minor offense.

Me and my Urbex Group have been looking into comming here. We have been to Addison-Wesley and The Danvers State Hospital and were wondering how to get inside Gaeblers. Are there any broken window or opened doors. Are there Alarms, Cameras, Motion Detectors, or Gaurdes. How Much Police Mantenence is there? Whats the low-down?

Got inside last week. Although it was an awesome trip, and i had a real good time exploring the place, i cant help but to be disappointed... This place is trashed!! It looks like crap from the outside, and even worse on the inside. Its dangerous above all as well...There is almost nothing interesting inside.. I didn't experience anything paranormal. The only creepy feelings i got were when the cops came.. i could hear the car stop, the officer walk out, checked around, then drove away.. I cant stress enough how serious the cops are about this place.. After looking at these pics for months and wishing to get inside, after seeing it, im only sadend. Sadend that such a beautiful place could get so mistreated.
