I worked at the Pines in the late 60's and early 70's. It was absolutly wonderful back then. Life was slower, care free. And the girtls were all beautiful when we wailked on the golf course at night.
I remember on evening in particular. It was the night of the last draft for Military service.We were sitting in front of the Television on the second level , along side of the steps. So many of my friends and I were waiting for the draft call to begin.
The roll call begain on the first date, my friend Jerry stood up and said " Well, I don't have to put up with the suspense, I'm gonna join the National Guard" I was 287. I was safe.

Does anybody remember Lynda Carter, who later became Wonder Woman was singing in the lounge. The group named " Speedy Garfin & Garfin's Gathering". Later that summer she won the Miss America Title,

Idk if is just me but I kind of see a face in the down left part of the third or fourth window to the right were the guy is.

my eyes went right to the heart shaped tearing of wall paper under the little table, this room definitely had love in it.

the cloud in the upper right looks like a swan. something graceful within the hard lines of the structure.

Yeah, someone opened an industrial sized meat locker one year after closure in mid-summer... I will never forgive them.

This door is a bit narrower than a standard one, not by much though.

Not so much in these older buildings; every time I visit during or after a rain / snow melt, it's pouring inside. I think the poured concrete floors really hold everything up.

Really makes you stop and think.I read in a book once how somebody said" after we are gone only those alive will mourn us and after that no one will have looked upon our face"
