Any idea what the huge baseboards were for? Only thing I can think of was to keep rolling beds from hitting the wall, but that seems like overkill..

On the fire doors, usually those are installed when you have to cut through a fire wall in a building. A fire wall would usually run the full width of the building, but based on the room to the left this wall doesn't . All the fire has to do is get into that room and it can bypass the fire door.

When I used to visit my family I often saw across from their cottage an abandoned theme park on this island. I know it's abandoned because I've been visiting there for 24 years and the ferris wheel has yet to move. I wish they would tear it down, it creeps me out.
