I agree, Motts. The tile color and anachronistic kitchen fixtures makes me believe it may have been some sort of medical area originally, like a surgical suite or laboratory. More like surgery, though - that godawful color reminds me of Phillip's Milk of Magnesia and operating rooms.
Wow. What a contrast!!! Some parts of the building look like they were just locked up last week, and here it looks like the ceiling vomited decay onto the floor. Awesome!
Wow shauna O sent me some good pictures while the place was still pretty clean. Looking at the one of ward B looking out at the closed doors, makes me really miss the place. I so want to find all my friends that were there with me
KPPC is the Mount Everest of urban exploration sites. To say Building 93 is massive is an understatement. I've seen others attempt to photograph this monolith and it's pathetic compared to Opacity. Mr. Motts your talent can only be described as supernatural. We who are privileged to see your work are awestruck. I hope the national media discovers this site. All it would take is one story on Good Morning America or CBS Sunday Morning to make you a famous man.
Infrared photography - it captures a spectrum of light normally invisible to our eyes, and causes long exposures in the day time (blurred trees in the wind).
It's weird, I can pull colors like this sometimes from the filter on my Canon 50mm, but on the 24-70mm it all comes out monochrome. Must be the way the glass is laid out...
i think i might be doing a project on this but i need to interview people, who might you suggest to interview. i mean i dont really know if anyone would know but i am stuck and need help. Also were there just mentally retarded or were there actually people with mental illnises or both. i have been here before, i went to the haunted house but i wish that i could go bymyself because i didnt like the haunted house i thought it was to over done with decorations and was kind of cheesey. i think it would be amAazing to go with no decorations because i love haunted thingsss. thanks (:
