I'm guessing that's rust, Mama... from the chain hanging down. I remember those chains having a small rubber stopper on the bottom you would use to block the drain.

I'm wondering what the brown thing on the shelf above the sink is? Looks like a book or an old folder. Remember the kind that had a flap you close and wind the string around a button of sorts to keep it closed?

Love these old doors, Would be nice to own one and sand it down and give it a new coat of paint and a fancy doorknob :)

Captured perfectly in B@W. the nasty steps, the peeling walls, and the rusted, peel on the handrails..

The grounds look SO well-kept still and the roadway/pathway is almost pristine! If you didn't know better, you would think this is a college campus or something like that.

Wow. 1914 was even before my GRANDMA was born! She just turned 89...so this building is coming up on 100 years old in 3 years! :D

That bowl does look oddly bright and new against the falling-apart chair and the bricks and the general dust and decay around it. Hmm.

My first thought was that like I Love Decay...a diner door...it looks almost like a cafeteria (the glazed bricks) in a school or something. The only thing that "ruins" that image is the blackness on the other side of that door...Very cool picture.
