Were the windows too tall to board all the way to the top. I wondered about that on the outside shots, but wasn't sure that is what I was seeing. This shot showing the light coming through the top confirms my suspicions. Odd.

oddly enough, my family tends to have fun at funerals. Oh, we cry and mourn, but we also remember the good times and the fun. Good therapy.

Looks like the coke wharf where hot coke was dumped to cool before loading in a conveyor. The object was just a wedge to divert coke from laying against an upright support beam. The coke cooled, then fell down a chute when doors were opened at the bottom of the slope.
