It was a law that exit signs had to be on a seperate battery system due to fires knocking out the central power systems & many people dying after being trapped & unable to see the exits. The exit signs will stay on until the battery is completely drained & that is a long time.

The tape is to seal the pipe insulation. That is probably asbestos containing insulation based on age but it could be fiberglass, you'd still want to cover the cuts and openings to keep it sealed since heating makes it very friable over time.

Love this, the blue & gold hall looks very royal, almost like it should be in a castle somewhere.

Yes it is me michelle LOL !!! It has been a long time!!!!!! Im doing really good ! I own my own house and im doing general contracting as a buisness owner. I have 12 people that are currently employed and have a nice contract going through the winter building log cabins. I do look back from time to time and wonder why things happen the way they did but i also remember that 90% of it i brought it upon myself as wild as i was , we were just angry kids thats all it was and we were searching for stability. Keep intouch girl . Im glad you finally remember me !!! LOL !!! We all didnt turn out bad , in fact some of us turned out to be successful!!! LIFE IS GOOD !!!!! I would like to get intouch with a few people just to say hi and see how everybody is doing . Im sure in time that will happen. Like i said before and i will say it again , we wernt bad kids , we were just reaching out and some of us went about it the wrong way . We should always forgive but never forget, Peace to all of you that went through this ordeal . Till this day we are still in this together !

I love this, very Christmasy with the snow on the ground & on the roof, you can almost picture the tree by the house with lights in it & lit up, along with some on the house itself.

Does anyone think of the classic movie War of the Worlds, with the light from the light pole looking like part of the alien ship as it is moving into the scene to scan the building for people hiding.

This reminds me so much of the town Pripyat after the nuclear fall-out made the town unsafe to live in anymore from the Chernobyl incident. The hues of this photo make it look like nuclear winter has hit.
