Lost Soul- your comments strike a cord; I worked at Mass. Mental Health, in Boston for a year. I remember one patient, a guy big enough to play pro football. When he was on his meds, he was a pussycat and very sociable; but when he stopped taking meds he was very aggressive and difficult. He once was returned to the unit with 3 Boston cops restraining him, one of whom commented that one day this guy was going to get himself shot while resisting arrest. It's a shame that the meds which can have such positive results also have side effects that make the patient miserable. The difference between some folks on meds or off is like day and night, as you apparently know first hand.

Is repaired In phpMyAdmin area of the cPanel, running the following query
REPAIR TABLE smf_sessions

I don;t know what that means but if you are Admin I suppose you do :-)

i've heard quackings of demo of Bennett [ at least 5 yrs } but as ratchet man says the cost is too prohibitive so guess mother nature will take it down- only hope I can be there- i think once it's way too collapsed the village will step in---- can U imagine the roar

Wow! What a lot of interesting information! Got to admire Pat for all his hard work on Ware. I'd love to read the book and any websites that pertain. A true labor of love! Same for Christina and all her work on putting Bennett stuff together. Interesting to see when all this comes together. Same for wanderer. Hope Halcyon can hang in there a little longer.
Christina, there is an interesting site called Hudson Valley demolition. Halcyon is mentioned in 2010, but nothing since. I keep looking there for updates. Are you familiar with this site?

No, they did not skip miner 910. He died in the mine and his number was retired. Miners are an very respectful group of people.

Combustion air for the boilers

Eliminating the blind corner made it safer for staff to enter; no surprise attack. If this is the room I think it is, there was a screen at the window that initially was not adequate to keep the patient from getting between the screen and the glass. Not Good! I recall one patient who broke about 20 panes of glass (in a different/non-seclusion room) before we got him to the floor. It took about 40 stitches to each arm to sew him up, and he kept fighting until threatened with leather restraints.

I worked at this facility for a year. I came away with the impression that most of the patients were very intelligent; perhaps too intelligent to manage in our "sane" world. I wish we had better and more successful methods of treatment for those who are tormented by things they have no control over. I burned out after the place was reorganized due to budget shortfalls. Many patients were "farmed out" during a union weekend work slowdown, and some managed well enough to stay out. It gave pause to consider the treatment methods of the day.

I can't tell you how excited I am for your project! I can totally understand how you feel about protecting yourself. I have to do the exact same thing ,but so far (knock on wood) everyone has been wonderful.

The funny thing is, I wanted to attend that speech ,but I was out of state so it wasn't possible. I have been constantly checking the website hoping for it's return. I had no idea that was you! Now I know not to bother checking anymore.

Wanderer, I've been following the Millbrook Independent about the demolition, nothing is in the works. The interior is VERY bad so I really don't see it making it through another winter. Then again, I said that exact same thing last year while I was inside filming.

Anyway, Doc update: We traveled to CT to film another alumni ,and she was just a beautiful person. I feel very fortunate to have spoken with her. I'm learning so much about Bennett's past ,and I can't wait to share it will all of you.

Hey Pat, glad to know the blue prints actually exist. I hope to see them someday. But if it isn't a huge inconvenience could you send me a crude sketch of the basement and sub basement floor plans? I don't need measurements, just the basic idea of where things are. I'm sort of OCD about this lol.

PS: The security question asked me, "What does not belong: nurse, fish, bed, hospital" and while I know it is "fish" I believe most hospitals have a tendency to serve fish as food. Just something to think about.
