I'm thinking along the lines of Chris Lewis...sort of. I think the boulder was put there to keep the doors from closing repeatedly from a draft. However, I think the problem they were having with the doors closing was they kept LOCKING themselves together everytime they got slammed shut by a draft. Then someone would have to keep going to the trouble of hunting down the keys. Or thé keys could havé accidentally kept getting locked in behind the doors! Someone may havé tired of the hassle of the doors repeatedly accidentallyy getting locked, and decided to put that boulder between the doors to prevent a draft from ever closing and locking thé doors ever again! How's that for a wordy explanation!?

I totally agree with Lynne. This place must have been astounding at one time! It's really a crying shame that a building of such historical significance, and former beauty, would be allowed to deteriorate almost to the point of no return! (Sob! Sniff!)

NOTE TO: Hybrid Moments.....Hey! How DARE YOU even HINT that someone (including YOURSELF) go find the locale of that chapel, and then go start tearing copper out of antique doors, etc.!!! Just because a property hasn't been actively used in a while doesn't give ANYONE the right to go into it, and start ''stealing'' stuff out of it and messing it up in the
process! It's just NOT YOURS TO TAKE! SOMEONE ELSE STILL OWNS IT ALL!....Okay! I'll admit it. You struck a nerve!

What a gorgeous old treasure! I most certainly hope and pray that the vandals and thieves don't get to this beautiful chapel, either! If they do find it, before touching or messing with anything, they need to remember that, ''Vengeance is mine!, saith the Lord.'' Hmmm...Maybe that's why this chapel hasn't been torn up and destroyed over the years! : )

Hey, Motts! Sorry I got so into my cat in the ''Çomments Sections'' this Gallery! My kitty was laying in my lap the whole time I was looking thru this Gallery, so I couldn't help but think of her at times. Once again, another great gallery of photos! Thanks, as always!

Okay! Now my cat did NOT do THIS! It had to have been those weird looking stuffed animals that come alive at night, and crawl out of the walls then, too, to wreck evil havoc everywhere! (Insert Evil Laugh Here)......Hope everyone enjoyed my run-on sentence. ; )

Umm...I actually kinda like the wallpaper. I think it would look good in a woman's or girl's bedroom. It's feminine, the coloris aren't super bright or gaudy, and the pattern isn't huge or overbearing. It reminds me of being in a small field being surrounded by small clusters of tiny wildflowers. Now if only I could figure out a way to get that wallpaper to stay stuck to the wall! :-(

Now this is my kind of banister! Such exquisite craftsmanship! It's so gorgeous and dainty.
