I agree with Anais. I think this space was last used as an office. Before that it might have been used as a playroom for children to come to visit with their parents who were in-patients here. Just a thought.

I bet that tile floor would look really nice, if cleaned up. And I still don't understand WHY all the drama? For example, Lucie Lou, ''But, don't you dare touch the bars...ZAP! fried.'' Seriously!? I've never known a mental hospital, past or present, to have electric fences or bars. Now I have known prisons to have electric fences. I just worry that even if you're joking around you could frighten someone to the point that they won't seek help even for depression, which can usually be treated out-patient nowadays.

I'm thinking that this place probably didn't have as much mold in it, and probably wasn't as gritty as this either, when there were patients here.

Okay. Forget all the drama! I just think this is one of your most dark & depressing photographs I've seen, Motts.

Bedless...and, to me, this is dark and drab!

Is this a small room, Motts, or the end of a hallway? Anyway, I really like the shades of blue of the walls and the flooring! It's calming to me instead of dark looking.

I went first in 5th grade as a field trip and I've been back once or twice. Another cool photo worthy museum, though not abandoned or much of a building is The Museum of the United States Airforce in Dayton. I love that place and myself have so many photos of my visits to the place.

Yup I've been to Union Terminal, very cool place. Loved the control tower where the museum is.
