Looks like somebody put the grab on some pieces and then broke the one trying to take it off. That, or the zombies broke it.

I've noticed in the floor plan you posted of Weeks Hall that there are two rooms labelled "Steam Table," which is a form of hydrotherapy. That's certainly a possibility for what this room was for, although in the diagram the rooms in question do not face the outside.
