MAMA! STOP pressing buttons and sticking your fingers in where they don't belong (see prior comment somewhere!) - - it is tempting though, isn't it? Like turning knobs and flicking switches!
I was born in '58, a few years from this date, but let me say that these papers are in a lot better shape than I am! I love finding old paperwork in locations better than machinery or other stuff. I think the documents can reveal so much of what went on when the company was in business.
We have several buildings in a town nearby where I live that look just like this. It makes me wonder. I don't think they were for coal, but I'm sure they were for some kind of manufacturing.
@ Mama. . . that's so cool. My sister lived in a house that was haunted, only her spirits weren't so nice. Many odd things happened to myself and other family members when we used to babysit my sisters kids. Everything from footsteps coming right up behind you (but no one is there), to bangs on the walls, to even being locked out of the house. Once we brought a Ouji board over to see if we could find out anything, which we certainly did. But things got a little wild. Now I would think twice about doing that because I've read and heard stories of releasing evil spirits and such. I'm glad you have a peacful one, but I still wouldn't let my guard down. You never know what these entities are capable of!
@ Autoguy - luckily I was spared the Ninja Nuns, I was the yooungest of the family. But I heard many stories from my older brother and sisters about how they used to crack their rulars across the kids hands that misbehaved. Not to mention other things. But you know in retrospect, I sometimes think that's why those kids turned out decent. The kids today have no fear, no conscience and is why there are so many committing crimes. Aside from all that, I think someone should make wallpaper that looks like graffiti. Cut out the middleman -
