Makes me think of that silent movie "Metropolis" for some reason
Still looks great to me!
I love industrial sites almost as much as the hospitals. I'm glad I stopped by today, I grabbed a sandwich and sat down to a new gallery. Perfect lunch time.
@ Mama - -thanks for the complement, I like to think I'm a good person, like you. As far as my AOL screen name, this will make you giggle. . .I have a fondness for big cars, cadillacs, buicks, Eldorados, etc. When I first went on-line back in the *koff* 1980's, file and screen names were still governed by the old DOS rule which limited them to eight characters. I originally wanted "EldoradoKid@..." because I was driving a 62 Eldorado convertible at the time, but that was too long so I had to shorten it. Then I think in the early 90's the long filename option came aboard (with Windows 95 maybe?) and that was no longer an issue. GAD, when I think back to those days logging on to the internet via a 300 baud modem, only to see mostly text-based web pages, hardly any graphics and of course the connection charges of ten cents a minute. BOY, am I old!!
Then you'd be perfect for the job! haha! Those guys must have had really sore asses after a 10 hour day sitting in that seat!
If you could hang that from a redwood tree, you'd have a hell of a swing!
we cut down way too many trees
It still think it would be fun and I'll be first in line!
Fingers only belong in gloves and noses -
I agree, this site is almost like a second family (although not quite as psychotic). I come here quite frequently, almost daily and if there's nothing new, I'll look over an older gallery or just poke around and still be in awe of the photos. And of course all the comments, you really get a sense of who these people are even though none of us have actually met. As for Mr. Motts, he IS the best and although there are other "abandoned" web sites out there none can compare to this one. Others may have photos, but it's the history of the location and the comments along with the fantastic photos that really make this place what it is.
this place looks so barren
"unfinished hole".... no comment :)
surprised no one has taken that yet
It does have a clock / watch like appearance.
this place must have been so noisy
