Anyone know info about the Employee Clubhouse building and what it was actually used for and what years?

I think to understand the present., we must look back at the past.

Lynne, I understand what you are saying and do believe mental health is a serious issue despite the fact that I joke about it sometimes.

Former employee, I wanted to know whether there is a cemetry at NSH for former patients and heard there was an incinerator at the site. What was the incinerator used for? Animals which were tested, humans, or perhaps to burn of old furniture or possessions from patients who were diseased?
What was the real idea behind the tunnels? Transportation of patients? How were the piers near the river used? What was the employee club house like and what types of events were held in the auditorium? Do you have photos of memorabilia of NSH? That would be neat if you posted them to share with all.

Is the circus train still at NSH or did someone take it?

Anyone know where the keyroom is?

With all the insane people, it was a circus and hence the reason a toy was at the facility. Probably in an employee area, and was a joke one of the nurses bought for a doctor.

Motts, might I suggest at your next visit to NSH to get photos of the docks....were they just used to haul oil to the power plant or also to haul in patients? Have you found any decomposing bodies in any of the buildings of NSH? Did you see any interesting paperwork? I would be quite interested in seeing photos of it. Also, I wanted to know whether you noticed any of the tunnels were sealed off from buildings and if the tunnels are accessible only from buildings or if they can be accessed from outside?

Motts, Was there anything in the safe? What do you think it was used for and what was its approximate size? Was there a safety inside to open it or could it only be opened from the outside if locked?

Anyone know of someone who used to work at NSH who either published a book, article, or video on their experiences and whether patients were abused there. I am very interested to confirm rumors that experiements happened at NSH on humans.

I would also like to know the truth what was done to patients at the hospital. I heard there is a doctor coming forward doing a public access TV show on the history of the hospital. It wouldnt surprise me if the doctors abused the patients because that was commonplace at that time.

I assume this photo was taken in the Admin building. Too bad they cant open up the buildings for tours.

Motts, planning on a trip back to NSH in near future? Would be interested to see photos of the adminstrator's offices, morgues, tunnels, power plant, employee's club house, cottages, doctors homes, and dont forget Pond View!

This looks similar to the windows from the NSH on the Norwich line - one of the first buildings of the whole campus...built even before the tunnels.

I want to know if any other areas of the hospital are haunted and whether anyone has been in Kettle or Lab buildings lately and how would they be accessed. How do you access the tunnels underneath Salmon building? Anyone have any pics of the boat docks and what were they used for? I assume transport of oil for the power plant. If so e-mail me smilingcorey@yahoo.com
