It is nice to be tucked up in a warm bed, under a solid roof, safe and sound.
Now that asylums and the like have closed down, the mentally ill have been left in the cold and now depend on the caring of strangers for their comfort. Many workers in the feild are truly decent people who not only have the stresses of their jobs but then have to fight for the rights of their clients. Fight the beaureaucrats who treat the care of these people like it is a lesson in how to feed them for less while they get a big bonus.... I too work in the mental health feild for next to no pay but i do because I care... those above me get big pay for doing s.f.a for the clients in our care ..grrr

Patients also slept on mattresses of straw with hessian covers. They had blankets that were more like canvas horse blankets as well. Pretty much buried as they lived really. All very inhumane by todays standards.
