Sadly, It's all too true Lynne. I was there. There was an aging old housewife willing to sleep with every bellhop or waiter that was willing to do the job. A little cocaine didn't hurt their chances any either.

There were few ways to calm agitated patients before effective psychotropic medications. Hydrotherapy was an effective means of reducing agitation. Its use stopped after the introduction of Thorazine the first effective psychotropic medication. Thorazine not only reduced agitation but hallucinations, inappropriate behavior and anxiety. It was the penicillin or wonder drug in the treatment of psychosis. I think the advent of Thorazine was the first creak in the closing of the doors to these buildings.

Well just to the left of the stage there is a huge multicolored "star" light (you can see it in some of the other pictures). I'll bet that would look really tite on the front of your house!

OH, it looked NOTHING like that when we lived there. It was a virtual palace. There was no ice in the toilet bowls, no cockroaches. Really, I swear! And how did that beer bottle get there? What a shame, what happened to the place. To just let it all go to the crapper like that.

How could anyone forget Michael? He was a lifer! Hee, I said "lifer". JK, love ya Mikey. Besides, by most standards I probably came pretty close to being one myself.
Anyway, I wish more people would leave a post when they stop by. I know they are all lurking!

Aww, Tom tom it's OK. I just thought it was funny that you had post after post about the female guests. I'm sorry. I'm sure you have great memories of your times there. Michael B was A staff back then, wasn't he? Was a very good friend of mine.

This was not the card room, it was a little corner garden underneath the stairs.
