With the age of this structure, the original ceiling tiles were probably a decorative metal and fetched a pretty penny for someone. Although this is a prison, the offices were built to impress.

They are taken off to prevent someone from accidentally or intentionally locking someone in. The doors are also extremely heavy which is why no one has taken them for scrap. If they were taken for scrap, depending on where they are taken would be a red flag to the buyer.
