this is for silkster and Ed: the reason people dont take the stuff and sell it is because these places are "Government Property" and have a strict No Tresspassing rule, with haevy fines. its hard enough to get in and out regualarly, but imagine just carrying one and standing still, let alone carrying that heavy thing out of there without being caught. And i know your thinking: "just bring a truck" , right? no, most of the time, you can only get past the gates and guards on foot. and besides, isnt a truck sitting empty next to a no tresspassing zone kinda suspicious? they would most likely stay there to see who the owner was, and find out what he or she was doing.

Motts, got a question for ya. have you ever been caught / chased by the police / security while trying to get photos from these abondoned places? many are dangerous or have some sort of unknown secrets behind there walls, and are therefore patrolled and is illeagel to enter, as it is considered tresspassing.

this kinda stuff happened at Pennhurst, the "patients" smeared their own feces on themselves so the staff would be forced to give them baths.

...Imagine sitting in this little cell, and you hear a noise... you look out the peephole and see a bloodshot, dark, expressionless eye looking through that same peephole at you... you scream, but no one can hear you, no one will ever hear you... that eye takes a step back, so you can see who it belongs to... you see a pale, oh so pale skinned patient, with an expressionless face on a cocked head,and long, dark, scraggly hair ontop of that cocked head...that expression...the one that is not there..... it is so creepy..... a little taste of my imagination there!

yes they do silkster. and that particular buiding is one of the most dangerous ones to be in. it was the one that was nicknamed the "Punishment Ward", because that is where they punished-a.k.a. tortured- patients. it is dangerous, because of all the harmful things in there. plus, it is out in the open, and it is easy to get caught in there.
