Ed, Yes, I'm sorry, I probably should have been more clear on my prior statement, there were 2 different stickers, one was white, and the other was yellow, they both had the name of the facility on them and a number. If I remember correctly, the Yellow stickers were for items that ran on batteries or electricity and the white stickers were for all other items. Its been a while so I'm not positive about the color coding. Everything in every building had to be inventoried and the sticker showed that it had already been logged and inspected. I had a hand held calculator that I bought myself, but because it was in that hospital, it needed a sticker on it.... go figure

When I worked at a state hospital, the maintenance workers had to document each item and place a sticker on it to show that it had been inspected, that report was sent to DGS (Department of General Services) It was done for safety as well as inventory on anything that was electrical.

Ilaynay, maybe you just need someone to be there to point them out to you, im sure you would see what we are talking about. They are most likely paint peeling off the walls, (the one in the blue room is pretty realistic though) some of them are pretty interesting. (it might also depend on what kind of monitor your using too...)

another great staircase shot, very ornate. This reminds me of a staircase in an apartment building I lived in in Brooklyn, NY. The building was built somewhere in the late 1800's.

what strikes me odd here is that no toilet is the same. Things being just a little off, out of wack, oddly placed and off kilter seems to be a signature theme in Pennhurst. Does anyone else notice this?

I worked in a State Hospital and was in the Physical Therapy room many times, with regards to balance and safety, railings were present on at least one side, but usually both. Some Railings were removable, and others were bolted to the wall in front and on the side. There is no way a person could have gotten to the top step and turned around on these steps even with help.

This picture really bothers me. A medicine cabinet "inside" a shower stall, Pink paint in the men's room.....okay..... The steps at the window appear to be a permenant fixture rather than a random placement. Theres no theraputic reason for them... perhaps it was an entrance - for visitors that didnt want to be noticed?
Motts, was there a roof or something right outside the window maybe?

why then should it bother you if someone sees a view different than yours? I believe that is what the whole it' about... each person's point of view..... (Motts, I hope you didn't mind me writing this, I know its not a message board)
