I came here for the pictures. At first, I didn't even notice there was comments below the photos. When I started reading them, it became addictive.

I found out that (almost) every detail in (almost) every picture is brought to my attention. Little things I missed, like dead flies on the floor are suddenly brought to my attention. Even the most mundane photo, such as a door saying 'Drug Room' will have fifty comments. All worth reading and being sad, funny and ed-u-cational all at the same time. You can't get much better than this.

Where I never broke one myself, I've seen others do it. You get a large rock and throw it at the screen. Upon impact, it makes a loud noise with gray dust particles flying around.

The set pictured here I'll wager was made between '58 and '63. Older sets have a more rounded screen. Newer sets have a UHF channel selector.

It should be specified that this place is in NORTH Jersey. I'm from South Jersey. There ~is~ a difference.

I took this picture into photoshop, to change the hue on the leaves, to get a positive I D on them. Sure looks like swamp sumac to me. They grow everywhere around here. They grow very quickly and one plant will send up several 'sucker shoots' so you have a whole forest of them in a few years.
They do have an odor when cut down or pruned.
I've never heard of them being referred to as locust trees (I should go into Google and look all this up, but time forbids this right now) Possibly another plant that is known by different names in different parts of the world.

All sumac trees are shallow rooted, and knock down real easy. I rid the trail of the poisonous variety simply by giving them a karate chop with my foot.

I thought I did discovered 'ghosts' in my woods one day a couple months back. I posted the photo on my Blog, and was told, that I had a dirty lens.

Indeed I did!!! The camera had fallen inside my digging hole earlier that day. LOL

I think the lower case 'b' was only to make it stand out.

If only the original artist of this poster knew it would be photographed and discussed online some day.

The original "Green Door" was by Jim Lowe in 1956

The gothic (Old English) script was to make it look distinquished. Putting the name on the doors was to make it look official.

I would wash it first, but hanging up after all these years, it might be a bit dry-rotted, and fall apart in the washer. (LOL)

Look at the condition. Would you take it? LOL

My local Wal*Mart was once a peach orchard. I can still picture the rows and rows of peach trees.

Another excellent gallerie of pictures. This place wasn't really trashed or grafittized. It just fell apart from years of neglect.

This is really ~spooky~ looking. Do I detect some artwork on the walls?
