What I said may have been taken a bit out of context. I don't want to see these buildings torn down and replaced with something else. I'ld like to see them restored and used as something else. Sitting as they are now, they will eventually fall apart and come crumbling down.

I would scoop up a handful and take them. I've did this with several abandoned buildings I've been in.

Oh, I'm sure there's tons of stuff buried around these buildings. Maybe even a body or two (yipes!)

The woods I'm digging in has sentimental value, as I've spent a good chunk of my life back there. The dump seems to have started in the 30's and followed the banks of the stream until it was out to the street. That's when it was closed. In July '63. I can't dig in the 'newer section' as there's homes there now, but the older (30's, 40's) is still available. That's where I do most of my digging.

Ed, I enjoyed the historical value of the old pics. It's a wonderful compliment (and contrast) to the pictures here.

As for uploading your additional photos to a proper site, there are places where you could upload pictures to, such as 'Webshots'. I have a Webshots page, http://community.websh...om/user/puddleboy100 These are easy to work with. I hope someday to have a right and proper website too, but for now I'm satisfied with my Webshots page, my photo blog, http://puddleboyrules.blogspot.com/ and 19 Yahoo groups.

Just think of all the fumes and chemicals they inhale just 'marking their trail'. Is it any wonder they can't spell anything right?

I wonder how many layers of paint were on those walls. It looks like several.

Is it possible to turn a building like this into condos, or even a mall?

Or is it too far gone?

Or is it worth it?

Oh, I'm willing to go down there, but not without my steel toe boots. Don't know what I'm gonna have to kick outa my way. LOL
