I believe that most iron work like this at the peaks were actually functional.. Instead of hitting the building, lightening would hit the iron work which was grounded.. But instead of having an iron rod sticking up in the air, they fashioned them into intricate designs..

Love the shot, really captures the feeling of actually being on the roof.. Dizzying..

Beautiful craftsmanship on the fire place, and the marble is a great contrast to the mauve(?) wall and blue carpet..

Love the contrast of the photo..

The contrast of the collapsed roof and rainbow colored walls is striking, like something out of a demented child's mind.. Like death and decay go along side dolls and stuffed teddy bears naturally.. Like looking into the child's mind to see an enchanted forest full of unicorns one minute, and shredded bodies and the souls of the damned the next..

Shots like this, the dark hallway with the light at the end, always remind me of the nightmares where you're running and running and running towards the light but the hall just continues to stretch before you.. The more you run, the longer the hall gets.. Reminds me of every painting, picture, or movie of something once vibrant now decayed revealing the true intentions of the closed in walls..

Actually, the water drop gives the picture character, like something out of a clasic horror movie or The Blaire Witch Project..
