Only Grave Stone not seen is the one that reads: "I Told You I Was Sick"
These 'look' to be used and un-used. Simple..... Baby Diapers are MUCH cheaper than Adult Diapers. It's all bout saving $$ and Getting the Job Done. These would be easier to 'deal with' on mental patients. The help did what they had to do. Left behind? Just watch any "Hoarders" Cable TV show... people pile them up in rooms and never think anything of walking them out to the curb. Once the 'closing date' was announced at Norwich I 'm sure the help adapted a 'give a s___t' attitude (PUN INTENDED) and didn't burden themselves with walking out all those bags to the dumpster....JUST THROW THEM IN A ROOM AND CLOSE THE DOOR! In their mind, the building would be bulldozed- not sitting there for 36+ years MORE!
Larry D; The doors are worth nothing...the Knobs and Hardware are Valuable. Sadly, it's all about $$$. Motts: Another fab photo. You ARE The Bomb
Moisture = Mold. Hope your well Motts
You have to wonder , today, if those souls that took these photo's are still HEALTHY? So many oblivious comments on this site but, does anyone realize the valiant 'Trespasser's' are breathing solid MOLD & Asbestos? These old buildings should only be visited with a HazMat mask. This is the breeding ground for COPD and other diseases. I, for one, really appreciate the effort these folks took to take some unreal pix! I really feel bad for those idiots who carry "rattle cans'" in their backpack's and their only desire is to desecrate and rob these grand old buildings of their artifacts. Thanks for a Great Job Opacity!
Area's like this were used for 24 hour 50 degree Ice Baths and preparing for Wet Sheet Treatments. Another really sad thought. All these photo's~ incidentally, Very well done~ depict the sadness that is retained here. Despite all the rhetoric against President Reagan for being chiefly responsible for closing all these Mental Asylums, you have to think after visiting here , he did the right thing. People tend to think with negativity but, many folks were also HELPED here, as well. Just read beyond ONE website, blogs by patients and employees. Its not all about Ghosts & Goblins.
